If you’re in the cafe business, we want you to be successful. You might be better off using some other brand of coffee. It depends what success means to you.
We want to work with people who really care about their coffee and are going to invest both in equipment and staff training to get the best product they can. If you aren’t going to, or if it’s not going to make business sense for you to do so, then we politely suggest you buy your coffee elsewhere. Here’s why:

We buy and roast beans from the top 2% on the planet. Being the best, they also cost a lot more. We could buy cheap beans full of defects and sell coffee at £5/kg, but when you taste the defects, you'll understand why don't. We buy beans in that cost more raw than many wholesalers charge for the roasted and delivered product. For the reasons why we do this see the introduction to the coffee section.
Your customers. If your customers aren’t going to notice the difference, then there’s no point using us. You’re better off with some cheaper fairtrade label.
Your staff. The most important thing is for your staff to be lovely. We can train them to do coffee if they have any aptitude. The quality comes from the manager/owner of the establishment. If you really want excellent quality coffee, you need to give us the training time with your staff. Otherwise you’re better off with a decent grade stale coffee.
We use either the double or the single basket when making coffee. Never both. If you want to use both, you’d need another grinder and too much time to make a successful business. If you’re using a double basket and pouring a single, you will lose half the coffee.

All that said, we want customers who want to build successful coffee. If you decide that quality is core to your business success, we would love to work with you.
What we do for you:

• We will provide a guaranteed supply of consistent Artisan coffee.
• We will train your staff to make decent coffee and inspire them to embrace the third wave of coffee. If you give us enough time with them and if they are motivated enough, we can make them into competition level baristas.
• We will advise you on what equipment to buy and we might be able to find you cheaper and better equipment. Don’t skimp on your grinder. It’s just as important than the espresso machine and needs to be good.
