Artisan Roast is the supplier of premium fresh-roasted coffees to Edinburgh. We have a range of speciality coffees all chosen for their superb taste and all roasted within the last few days. Our café is on Broughton Street and showcases how good coffee can be as well selling small quantities of the beans to customers. All our staff are passionate about coffee and can advise on most aspects of coffee preparation. We supply tailored espresso blends to cafés and restaurants in Edinburgh that demand the best quality coffee for their customers. Our focus is on quality. Follow the wheel around from the cultivation and harvest of coffee through importation, roasting, cupping, grinding, preparation, service and trade supply. Although we do buy in some Fairtrade beans, we don't believe that Fairtrade is the best model. The growers we buy from produce quality beans and get paid accordingly much more than the Fairtrade base rate. Our beans come from estates, co-operatives or collectives. We don't believe that you can call a system fair if you don't have traceability. We also believe in completing the cycle with our own micro-credit project back to the birthplace - Ethiopia. |
